Missy Elliott is often referred to as the ‘Queen of Rap’ for a reason!  Her albums have sold over thirty million copies worldwide, and songs like ‘Work It’ and ‘Get Ur Freak On’ have made a permanent mark on pop culture.

You might know of her duets with artists like Lizzo, but what you may not be aware of are the collaborations Missy has had with other artists… as a writer!  Here are five R&B songs you may not realize that Misdemeanour penned.

‘Signs’ – Beyonce

Missy wrote this track which was featured on Beyonce’s debut album, ‘Dangerously In Love’, which featured such U.S Number One hits as ‘Crazy In Love’ and ‘Baby Boy’.  Though ‘Signs’ never climbed to those heights, it’s a cracker of a track!

’Never Been’ – Mary J Bilge

If you haven’t listened to this track, find it, and give it a whirl!  It came out back in 2001, and it has some of those classic early 2000’s R&B vibes.

‘In My Business’ – Whitney Houston

‘Confessions’ – Destiny’s Child

The 90s were a busy time for Missy! She also wrote this track for Destiny’s Child’s second studio album, ‘The Writing’s On The Wall’ (which went on to sell more than 12 million copies worldwide)!

‘I’m His Only Woman’ – Jennifer Hudson

The 2008 track for Jennifer Hudson’s self-titled debut album went on to win a Grammy for ‘Best R&B Performance By A Duo Or Group’.  The album debuted at number two on the US Billboard 100, and was certified gold!
